It does not contain a response to the question I posed in my original email. I now have the Motorola phone and am interested in finding out if I should bring it in to the Verizon store to have the software updated. Please let me know. Thanks, Mike. I am waiting to purchase a V phone till then because the current version will not link up with the bluetooth capability in my Prius.
I saw an article in one of the cell phone web sites that the change was going to be announced last Friday 11 Feb and that it would be available in a few weeks. Is this true? Well, if you've been following along on HoFo, you probably are aware that some have already had the flash done and, in fact, it disabled the transflash to phone transfer of audio files.
I contacted a couple of corporate stores in the NW burbs of Chicago today and was told the flash wasn't available as of yet but would be sometime soon WBJohnston New Member. This car is a technological marvel and very impressed with the engineering. The issue concerning the bluetooth problems with the Motorola V phone is dishearting.
Frequently we know more about the product then they do; these internet forums certainly give us an edge and they should consider reading them.
Hopefully they will come up with a fix that works. Joined: Feb 24, 9 0 0. Visited my local verizon dealer south side of Chicago on Friday, the tech there said the update was being pushed into their system that night and to come back Monday to get it. Monday I came by and got the "it's been pulled", but gave him my number and got a call back the next day saying he could give me the update.
Went in fearing for another pull, and 30 min later I'm up to date. Havn't tried phonebook xfer Yes, please give us an update after you try a phonebook transfer. I have to say, though, that based on the experience of others, it's not going to work. It appears that with Moto phones, the Prius just sits there and waits for users to send data from the phone. With the V, there's no way to accomplish that On HoFo, a Lexus owner reported the phone rang in the car and he was able to see signal strength after the update but was still unable to transfer his phonebook.
Same deal, apparently, with the Lexus vehicles I for one became aware of the limitations of the phone's bluetooth after purchase. I could have returned it within the 15 day timeframe, However I made quite a few calls to both VZW and Moto and they both assured me that a new firmware release due at the end of 04 would correct the problem. Here we are in 05 with nothing changed.
I find this whole process quite intriguing. In fact, I have two of them. After I switched back to VZW from Sprint, I was left with pretty much of a defunct Treo screen was messed up and battery life down to about nil so I wound up using my millennium old Startac.
However, House Rule 5 applied: House Rule 5: When one spouse gets a new cellular phone, the other spouse is entitled to a new cellular phone of equal, or better, functionality and quality. Maybe this is a temp solution. I get all my contact into outlook on my laptop. I get a bluetooth adapter for my laptop you guys may have it built in I bring my laptop to the car and transfer the phonebook from outlook?
I'm not sure if this will work, as I don't have a bluetooth adapter yet. Any speculation as to whether this will work? DBM New Member.
I have two laptops, both with built-in BT. Both laptops see the Prius, but both say that there are no services for it. Therefore I was unable to transfer contacts from Outlook to the car. Maybe I'm doing something wrong Maybe someone else has a different experience The worm may have turned. I told them I was looking to contact the lawyer that was bringing suit against them etc.
Let Verizon twist in the wind. I have the same firmware as mentioned above. Any new words on the "BT Update"? Does Motorola's iSync software really work?
Thanks All If I already have the phone, will I be able to get the firmware update, or is that only available in phones purchased after its released?
Anyone heard any news on the firmware upgrade? Just wondering how it was making it through testing. According to what I've heard, the firmware update has already been delivered to VZW for testing.
Because of the extent of the changes, VZW is going to put this update through the full test process - that, combined with the fact that other phones V26X, A, V65p have testing priority at the moment, means you can look for the update no earlier than November. VZW is going to push to get the new phones out on the shelves for the holiday buying season before they revisit existing phones. Sportsman Senior Member. Critic is correct It should fix the volume issue and a few other things, lets hope so Lexhair Junior Member.
You might have better luck asking this in the Alltel carrier forum. If you're a NEW Alltel customer, I suspect they're going to try and strongarm you into buying a new phone. If you're an existing customer, you might get lucky, but I suspect it's going to depend on the technician you get. VZWfascim sucks New Member. You must log in or sign up to post here.
