This procedure is known as endodontic therapy. Such treatment is provided by a dental specialist known as an endodontist - an expert dentist who has completed an advanced 2 year certification at an American Dental Association accredited university. We are an extension of your general dentist's care - an excellent analogy of this is to think of your dentist as your general medical doctor and your endodontist as your cardiologist.

Video - Partners in Patient Care. We were established with a commitment to provide the highest quality endodontic care available in a warm and compassionate manner. In fact, a recent survey showed that patients who have experienced root canal treatment are six times more likely to describe it as "painless" than patients who have not had root canal treatment. In another survey, 9 out 10 people who had a root canal treatment performed by a specialist would return to one.

Dentist: A dentist is a person who is qualified as a doctorate in dental surgery D. Universities have the prerogative to determine what degree is awarded. Both degrees use the same curriculum requirements set by the American Dental Association's Commission on Dental Accreditation.

Generally, three or more years of undergraduate education plus four years of dental school is required to graduate and become a general dentist. State licensing boards accept either degree as equivalent, and both degrees allow licensed individuals to practice the same scope of general dentistry. Additional post-graduate training is required to become a dental specialist. Additionally, dentists can further engage in oral surgery procedures such as dental implant placement.

Scheduling To maintain the highest quality care, we do not double book appointments. We value your time and expect you to reciprocate that.

Initial appointment If you are currently taking antibiotics or pain pills, please stop taking them for 8 hours prior to your appointment if possible. Having these in your system can make diagnosing your tooth more difficult. After describing to Dr. Kim the problem that you have been experiencing, a comprehensive examination and digital radiographs will be taken to determine the proper diagnosis of your case.
